Richard S. Gendler

Dr. Richard S. Gendler received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in psychology from the University of Hartford in 1989. Thereafter, Dr. Gendler earned three law degrees including a Doctor of Juridical Science (J.S.D.) from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. A J.S.D. is the Ph.D. equivalent for law and the most advanced law degree in the United States. Additionally, Dr. Gendler holds a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (J.D.) from the University of Miami School of Law.

Over the last two decades, Dr. Gendler has committed himself to providing his clients with the highest level of both competent and personalized legal representation.

In Addition to practicing law, Dr. Gendler serves and an adjunct professor of law at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he teaches a graduate level course on Consumer Bankruptcy. Dr. Gendler also routinely teaches continuing legal education courses on topics related to consumer bankruptcy for Strafford Publications. Dr. Gendler presently serves on the Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee.

Over the years Dr. Gendler has been interviewed by all of the local major television networks, including ABC Channel 10, NBC Channel 6, CBS Channel 4, Fox Channel 7, Telemundo Channel 51 and Telemiami Channel 22. His commentaries have also been cited to in the Miami Herald, EL Nuevo Herald, Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel, New Times, and the St. Augustine Record.

Dr. Gendler’s bar admissions include the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Tax Court. Dr. Gendler is licensed by the State of Florida as a 2-15 life, health and variable annuity agent and is certified as a Master Financial Planner by the American Academy of Financial Management. Dr. Gendler is also an appointed title insurance agent for the Old Republic Title Insurance Company.

Dr. Gendler's present and past affiliations include memberships in the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, the Miami-Dade County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the North Dade Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce, Stewart Title Insurance Company, Attorneys Title Insurance Company, Fidelity Title Insurance Company, Attorney's Mortgage Services, the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors and the Miami-Dade Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Martin G. McCarthy

Graduate of the University of Miami School of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts in History (B.A., 1995), and University of Miami School of Law (J.D., 1998 Cum Laude) During his undergraduate studies Martin McCarthy worked as a legal intern at Hamilton Bank, N.A. dealing with in-house legal and regulatory matters as an assistant to the General Counsel. This internship taught Mr. McCarthy the practical realities of working within the complex regulatory structure of a national banking institution.

During law school Martin McCarthy developed an interest in criminal law which lead to his working for the Miami-Dade County Public Defenders Office as a certified legal intern in the criminal divisions of both the County and Circuit Courts assisting in the representation of indigent defendants charged with both felonies and misdemeanors.

Since 1999, Mr. McCarthy has been working at the Law Offices of Richard S. Gendler & Associates, P.A. where he has continued in the representation of both adults and juveniles charged with a wide variety of crimes ranging from murder to, robbery, burglary, drug trafficking, kidnapping, aggravated assault, sexual offenses, driving under the influence (including their accompanying administrative hearings), criminal investigations prior to arrest, and other criminal matters in both the trial and appellate divisions of the State and Federal Courts.

Mr. McCarthy has expanded his practice to assist his clients varied legal needs. While still serving his clients charged with criminal offenses he also strives to serve his clients needs in corporate and personal bankruptcy, civil litigation, real property matters, and corporate formations.

Mr. McCarthy is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. McCarthy is a past or present member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Dade County Bar Association.

Robert F. Bollinger

Graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Affairs Management (B.S. 1984), Long Island University/ C.W. Post College with a Master of Science Degree in Public Accounting (M.S. 1989), and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law (J.D. 1992 cum laude). Mr. Bollinger holds a New York State C.P.A.E.C. (1988) and is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Prior to immersing himself into the field of law, Robert Bollinger utilized his business and accounting skills by working as a Retail Sales Accountant for Saks Fifth Avenue. Subsequently Mr. Bollinger worked as a government regulatory staff accountant for New York Life Insurance Company. At the University of Miami School of Law, Robert Bollinger refined his legal writing skills as a staff writer for the prestigious University of Miami School of Law Inter-American Law Review. Upon Graduation from Law School with honors, Mr. Bollinger launched his prominent real estate legal career as an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Ritter, Ritter, & Feinstein. As Associate Counsel in the firm's real estate department Mr. Bollinger coordinated thousands of condominium conversion real estate transactions for a major South Florida real estate developer. Subsequently Mr. Bollinger opened Robert F. Bollinger, P.A. where he continued his practice of commercial and residential real estate transactions and expanded his practice to include Civil Litigation and Estate Planning.

At the Law Offices of Richard S. Gendler & Associates, P.A. Robert Bollinger is Lead Counsel in the Real Estate Department. His duties include preparation of commercial and residential real estate contracts, mortgage loan and real estate closings and the formation of homeowner and condominium associations for developers.

Mr. Bollinger's present practice additionally includes debtor representation in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases, the resolution of complex Internal Revenue Service issues, formations of corporate and limited liability companies, business contract preparation, business closings, probate, formation of guardianships and trusts, evictions, foreclosures, the representation of defendants and plaintiffs in general civil matters.

Anthony Rodriguez

A Florida native, Anthony Rodriguez, graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor in Science in 1998 and he obtained his law degree from Barry University in 2006. Mr. Rodriguez is a member of the Florida Bar and a member of the Bars of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rodriguez was employed at a prestigious immigration law firm in Miami in addition to working as a title processor. Since 2007, Anthony Rodriguez has handled thousands of cases involving State and Federal Issues. He currently focuses on consumer bankruptcy cases involving Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 clients.

Mr. Rodriguez is fluent in Spanish.

Emre Yersel

Emre Yersel acquired his B.B.A. in accounting from Florida Atlantic University summa cum laude in 2009 and his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law magna cum laude in 2013. At Miami Law he was an awarded member of the University of Miami School of Law’s Moot Court Board and the Managing Editor of the Psychology, Public Policy, and Law Journal. His scholastic distinctions include receiving both the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Communication and Research I, earning the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in Legal Communication and Research II, and attaining Academic Honors in both Pretrial and Trial Sections of the Litigation Skills Program.

Mr. Yersel began employment with the Firm in 2012 as a Law Clerk and Research Assistant and became an Associate Attorney in the Firm’s Litigation Department upon his induction into the Florida Bar. His practice includes foreclosure defense, employment and labor disputes, white collar criminal defense, family law, general civil litigation, and appellate advocacy. Prior to joining the Law Offices of Richard S. Gendler & Associates, P.A. Mr. Yersel was a Judicial Extern for a United States Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of Florida, a Law Clerk providing local discovery support in a nationwide insurance dispute at a boutique commercial litigation Firm, and a LegalLink Extern at a non-profit organization providing business and legal solutions to local artists in the South Florida area.
